Top Gun VBC is excited to announce the 2026 season tryout dates! TopGunTryoutForm2026
13U tryouts will be held Thursday, November 6 AND Friday, November 7 from 6:00 – 7:45pm.
14U tryouts will be held Thursday, November 6 AND Friday, November 7 from 7:45 – 9:30pm.
15U tryouts will be held Thursday, November 13, 6:00 – 7:45pm AND Saturday, November 15, 3:00 – 4:45pm.
16U/17U/18U tryouts will be held Thursday, November 13, 7:45 – 9:30pm AND Saturday, November 15, 4:45 – 6:30pm.
All tryouts will be held at Scranton Middle School, 8415 Maltby Rd., Brighton, MI 48116. Attendance both days is recommended but not a requirement. The Tryout Permission Form is available here: TopGunTryoutForm2026
Proof of current 2026 AAU membership will be necessary for tryout. To sign up for the required AAU membership, go to www.aausports.org and create a new account. Follow the prompts for a YOUTH, ATHLETE MEMBERSHIP. When asked about a club, attach your membership to #UXTT2GXK5 or the Michigan Top Gun Volleyball account in the dropdown menu. Should you later choose not to join the Top Gun program, this membership is transferable to any club prior to participation in a competition with a club.

What age should my daughter tryout for? Can I just use her age?
Top Gun VBC and the AAU organization follow the USA Volleyball guidelines for age eligibility. This is based on the age of the athlete on July 1, 2026 for the 2025-2026 season. Grade is a secondary determinant as we look to keep athletes within their “peer group” much of the time. Please attend the tryout according to the following age definitions UNLESS they are in the higher grade for their age. For example, fall under the 14U category, but are in 9th grade.
There will be no tryout for 12U athletes. Registration forms will be available for the 12U program (athletes born between July 1, 2013 and June 13, 2014) starting in November.
2025 – 2026 AGE DEFINITIONS:
12 and under (12U): Born between July 1, 2013 and June 13, 2014.
13 and under (13U): Born between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013.
14 and under (14U): Born between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012.
15 and under (15U): Born between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
16 and under (16U): Born between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
17 and under (17U): Born between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009.
18 and under (18U): Born between July 1, 2007 and June 30, 2008.
